I was watching one of Gil Rimmers' DVD on character design and I really like his sketchy render of his grayscale studies. Here's my attempt at the same rendering technique in PS. His theme was boxers at the turn of the 20th century.

The soundtrack made me think of a character who was trying to get something right and then failing but not really caring about it. This is what came out of that.
